Comprehensive transformation of the CCM system towards a modern cloud architecture
Challenge
A major insurance company needed to evolve its customer communications platform, moving from an on-premises infrastructure to a modern, secure, scalable, and fully managed cloud model, without modifying existing document-generating applications.
Among the key needs were:
- Migrate the CCM environment to the cloud without interrupting current processes or affecting the applications that consume it.
- Have a flexible, resilient infrastructure that is scaled for large volumes of documentation (policies, notices, letters, commercial communications, etc.).
- Maintain specialized multilevel support with the ability to escalate to the manufacturer.
- Ensure high standards of quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and operational continuity.
- Reduce dependence on physical infrastructure and simplify technical and operational management.
Solution
A complete rearchitecture of the CCM platform was carried out, deploying it on Microsoft Azure, together with the new OpenText Exstream product running on Kubernetes, allowing the service to be operated from the cloud without the need for changes to the customer’s legacy systems.
The implemented solution includes:
- New CCM infrastructure in Azure, scaled for massive loads and adjustable on demand.
- Deployment of Exstream on Kubernetes, applying best practices for high availability, performance, and security.
- Design and implementation of the necessary integrations, allowing all existing applications to continue generating documents transparently, without modifications.
- Secure storage of documentation in the corporate document management system, accessible to customers and internal departments.
- Managed service operation, with N1/N2/N3 support, preventive/corrective model, and escalation capability to the manufacturer.
- Recurring and controlled updates, ensuring continuous evolution with minimal operational impact.
- Pay-as-you-go economic model based on cloud infrastructure, optimizing TCO and reducing hardware investment.
We migrated and managed the communications platform of a leading insurance company from on-premise to a modern CCM architecture based on OpenText Exstream on Azure and Kubernetes, enabling on-demand scaling, increased security, reduced costs, and maintenance of existing systems without impact.
Keys to success
- Scalability on demand, automatically adapting to peaks in document generation.
- High resilience and operational continuity, with disaster recovery capabilities that do not depend on physical hardware.
- Cost reduction by switching to a pay-per-use model and eliminating on-premise infrastructure.
- Agility in managing and deploying environments, accelerating developments and new capabilities.
- Enhanced security, thanks to Azure’s native services and policies reinforced with proprietary controls.
- Complete technical and operational traceability, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.
