BIZIA

BIZIA

Description

BIZIA is a collaborative project that aims to transform the healthcare model in the Basque Country by creating a smart digital ecosystem for social and healthcare services. It focuses on the early detection of frailty and physical and cognitive dependence in older adults, using technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), computer vision, acoustic biomarkers, and federated data spaces.

The project addresses the challenges of an aging population and promotes personalized, predictive, and preventive care.

Objective

BIZIA’s main objective is to research and develop a social and health care system that enables the collection, digitization, analysis, and utilization of health and social data through artificial intelligence. This will facilitate decision-making in senior care centers, improve dependency support services, and enable more effective planning of interventions, ensuring the security, privacy, and traceability of information.

Actions

  • Research on federated and interoperable data spaces
  • Development of technological architectures for the secure integration of multi-vendor data
  • Application of decentralized digital identity (SSI) and verifiable credentials (VCs)
  • Implementation of differential privacy and anonymization mechanisms
  • Research on multimodal predictive techniques to detect frailty and dependency
  • Application of Explainable AI (XAI) and Fair AI to Mitigate Bias
  • Digitalización de escalas clínicas mediante visión artificial
