Volatile
Description
The VOLATILE project aims to recover municipal and industrial solid waste through bioconversion into Volatile Fatty Acids (VFA), which are then transformed into high added-value products such as PHA biopolymers, cellular oils for the oleochemical industry, and unsaturated Omega-3 fatty acids for food or nutraceutical use.
Objective
To develop a web platform that integrates an agent-based model (ABM) that simulates and analyzes interactions within the waste conversion system in order to optimize the production processes of value-added compounds.
Actions
- Bioconversion of organic waste into volatile fatty acids.
- Production of PHA, single-cell oils, and Omega-3 fatty acids.
- Development of an agent-based computational model (ABM).
- Implementation of the model on a web platform for simulation and analysis of complex processes.
- Application of complex systems, emergence, and evolutionary programming theories.
