The company, originally founded in Mexico and headquartered in Bilbao, has experienced exponential growth, especially in the last five years, driven by several strategic acquisitions. In this line, it is worth noting that at the beginning of this 2025, Teknei has integrated CTI Soluciones, a Madrid-based company specialized in financial technologies, which currently processes 15% of payments and transfers in Spain, thus strengthening its position in the financial and insurance sector.
Thanks to integrations like this one, Teknei has established itself as a benchmark in the Banking and Insurance and Public Administration sectors with a team of more than 2,500 professionals.

Artificial intelligence
In addition to establishing its European presence, especially in strategic projects such as the new AI Factories and the European Digital Identity framework, the company is committed to the U.S. market, where it has been operating since 2023. The United States, key for its technological dynamism and its potential in AI-driven digital transformation, is one of the strategic focuses for new integrations this year.
“The passion for technology and our commitment to solving challenges in companies and administrations are the driving forces of Teknei. We are committed to constant innovation in artificial intelligence, digital identity and technological transformation, always putting our human team, the true protagonists of success, at the center,” stressed Joseba Lekube, CEO of Teknei. “These first years have been the beginning of what is to come, which is to consolidate a challenging project where people, innovation and technology will shape the future,” added Lekube.
Teknei celebrates 15 years of technological leadership and looks forward to a promising future full of opportunities.
Unity is strength
In recent years, Teknei has successfully integrated several companies to strengthen its capabilities and position itself as a benchmark in innovative technologies. The most relevant initial acquisition was ODEI in 2019, a company from Vitoria specialized in document management and digitization, multiplying by four its document technology area.
In 2020, Systems, a Bilbao-based company specializing in technological infrastructures and user support, joined the group, bringing a team of more than 100 professionals. A year later, Merkatu and Datua, startups from the Basque ecosystem specialized in digital customer experience and predictive artificial intelligence respectively, joined the group, enriching its offer in Digital Business and innovative solutions based on AI and data management.
Growth continued in 2022 with the integration of Amatech (Nahitek and Eurohelp), significantly expanding cloud areas, Red Hat solutions and application development in key sectors such as finance, retail and public administration. That same year, Grupo Vermon was also incorporated from Albacete, reinforcing technological solutions for the healthcare and industrial sectors.
In 2023, it entered the US, with the acquisition of KEY Technical in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, expanding the portfolio of important clients in the financial sector and services such as Transunion, Lexis Nexis and Amadeus NorthAmerica. 2025 has started with the integration of CTI Soluciones into the Group.
